All In A Lifetime

Music: Aimee Carty I tend to Think too much about the things I can't control Lost in today and I forget what's coming after It's so important to remember Everything in life will pass This day, this week, this year It's just a chapter It's simply Building blocks Built of sand On the rocks From the grains we collect on the shore Some sit back and adore what they've got Some sit back and long for more And I am guilty I forget that I have plenty Until something has been taken from my hand But I've decided While I'm young While I'm still 20 I'll just sit back and enjoy it while I can It all comes and goes It all ebbs and flows It's all in a lifetime I tend to Say too little 'bout the things I want to voice I write my words and thoughts in poems and songs instead But then I Play the victim acting like I have no choice As if the world can see the words inside my head It's simply Paving stones On a path That we go That we walk, just to see what we find Some are proud of the life that they've lived But most people don't even look behind And I am guilty I forget to look around me And I often fail to see how far I've come But I've decided While I'm young While I'm still 20 I'll work hard but I'll just also live for fun It all comes and goes It all ebbs and flows It's all in a lifetime It's all just simply Building blocks, build them up Knock them down to the ground And just watch as they fall It's funny we don't See the tower we had 'Til it's gone, then we're sad We have nothing at all It's funny how we Always want to travel further Travel faster Travel harder Travel better Travel far But often times we Travel where we think we want to Then we look back and we long for where we were not where we are And I am guilty I forget to see the beauty all around me It's exactly where I stand Deep down I know that it'll all just piece together If I'm kind and if I'm true to who I am It all comes and goes It all ebbs and flows It's all in a lifetime It all comes and goes It all ebbs and flows It's all in a lifetime
