Tension

Screen lights up. You. Like a bare, live wire sparking in the dark. I play it cool, act like I don't care, but you've already seen right through the guard. Glass. Sitting right on the edge. One little shake and it shatters to the ground. I freeze, keep my hands pinned down, while my pulse is already breaking through the walls.
Pull me in tight. Then take a step back. That empty space between us is driving me insane. Just one careless glance from you, and it's boiling, surging through my veins.
Tension. Pull me till I bend. This heavy gravity, dragging me back into the loop, without an end. Tension. Say my name, use that exact, devastating tone. Tension. And I still, keep coming back alone.
Footsteps. Slowing down. Right at the corner of the hall. I hear you hesitate, and my control just takes a fall. You tilt your head, like you know, like you know exactly where I'll crack. Just one inch closer, and the whole damn room, is shaking back.
Try to run, you just yank me right back in. Stay, and the dizzy spinning starts again. Just this one, fragile, paper-thin line. Breathing gets so heavy. I can't even tell anymore, where you end, and where I begin.
Tension. Pull me till I bend. This heavy gravity, dragging me back into the loop, without an end. Tension. Say my name, use that exact, devastating tone. Tension. And I still, keep coming back alone.
