The Fall of Dustcar

Music: Jeremy David Miller Once upon a time we were all friends Oh way back then we all laughed we all cried Together as one The golden days are always in the past They never last; they never will Time always marches on And as we journey on in life Everypony encounter's strife As pony kind can't stop hurting itself it seems And though it's not intentional The pain we feel is always real We need finda a way to stop it From destroying us I watched the conflict grow and grow Until something had to go The rules were changed specifically To target some people Didn't seem like they cared About the harm they caused back there So most of us decided to leave It wasn't the place we wanted to be And thus it was the fall of Dust Car, The schism that tore the place apart Once upon a time that place was home And now it never will be again (never again) Once upon a time we were all friends Oh way back then we all laughed we all cried Together as one I still wish that we could be One big pony family But thinking that today Well it's frankly quite naieve And as we stay in this fandom Some people will cause us harm As pony kind can't stop hurting itself it seems And when someone shoots us with pain We have to ask ourselves again Why we even want to hang out here at all Yet all these months later I still miss that Dust Car In spite of all the pain that was caused Maybe one of these days I'll finally move on Until then I'll be singing this song For there's been too much hurt There's been too much pain When will you open your eyes See the harm of your reign There's no going back There's no time to waste It's time for me to move on And sing in a different place Once upon a time we were all friends Not anymore, we closed that door, And decided to burn the bridge Not all stories end happily And that's okay. 'Cause that's just what life is sometimes; It's one awful thing after another, after another, after another. Thus it was the fall of Dust Car, The schism that tore the place apart Once upon a time that place was home And now it never will be again
