When the Rain Took You
The rain began so soft and slow
Across the stone where flowers grow
I held your hand beneath the sky
And never thought I’ d say goodbye
Your smile was warm, your eyes were light
A flame against the coming night
Now every step I take alone
Feels heavy as a crown of stone
I learned to face the beast and blade
I learned to walk through fear unafraid
But nothing taught my heart to stay
When love was carried far away
And then the rain turned into fire
My grief became a rising choir
I will not bow, I will not fall
I will stand against it all
If fate comes now to claim my name
I’ ll burn the sky and bear the flame
For all I lost, for all I bleed
I will become what I must be
I see her face in shattered dreams
A fading glow in moonlit streams
I hear the years inside my chest
Calling me to break the rest
The world can call me born too proud
A storm that speaks in thunder loud
But every wound you left behind
Has carved a war inside my mind
I held our child, I held our home
Then watched the dark take flesh and bone
Now every road that lies ahead
Is paved with everything they said
And then the rain turned into fire
My grief became a rising choir
I will not bow, I will not fall
I will stand against it all
If fate comes now to claim my name
I’ ll burn the sky and bear the flame
For all I lost, for all I bleed
I will become what I must be
Tell me, is this what kings are made of
Ashes, steel, and broken love
If my hands shake, let them shake
I will still rise for what was taken
And now the rain has turned to thunder
I hear the world begin to wonder
What kind of man returns from pain
With sorrow burning in his veins
I will not bow, I will not fall
I will stand against it all
For her, for us, for what remains
I walk through fire, I bear the pain
