Lyrics: Snowy White
Music: Snowy White
On a dark and rainy New York night, I just wasn’t feeling right
I’d been on the town, all around, and I was not a pretty sight
I came across a dive and I ducked inside, got a bourbon in my hand
I found me a bar to prop me up, while I listened to a real hot band
And when I heard the way they paid their dues, I got lost in the blues
Now I settled in, and I was chilling, I was feeling pretty good by then cos the barman kept on filling
The band took five and after a while the guitarist came my way
He said I know who you are, gave me his guitar and said I’d love to hear you play
I had nothing to lose so I lit the fuse, and got lost in the blues
Now I have no idea if I was bad or good, back in that New York downtown neighbourhood
Sometimes you’re hot and ready to play, if you get some luck things just go your way
But I sure felt rough the very next day, really lost in the blues
