Ink Strokes
Are they still ink strokes if typed with a laptop?
If typed into my phone?
If no ink was actually spilled?
"My Typings," doesn't sound like a chill idea
At least not as much as Ink Strokes
So what did I do?
I wrote the vast majority of this poetry collection with ink from my pen
Pens that often stopped flowing in the middle of my writing
But I always had a spare, handy to pick up the pace
While stroking my mind for ingenious ideas
I stroked the ink onto these pages
Like a painter anticipating his next best work
Trying to beat my previous by a margin
Not an easy feat if you ask any craftsman
Relying on the skill made abundant in me
Trying to balance the attributes of depth and clarity
A splash of simplicity and a bucket of sophistication
All at the same time
Again not an easy feat
Some will get jealous
Others will be inspired to their own unique greatness
Which you must search for and discover for yourself
And when you do, life will unfold like a mystery solved
