Music: Raphael Palacci
It's 4am, best time to be alive
Just me, the city and the music I wanna play
Usually I wake up late and spend the day thinking about my set
I practice, listen to records
Make a few phone calls and wait for the night to settle in
No one to tell me what to do, just pure freedom
It's in me, I can feel it
The conditions are just right for a late night jam
And you know me, I'm easy
I'll play any joint, any bar any club, anywhere
So I try to get a cab to take me downtown
Hey driver, get us to the Limelight
After a quick chat with the bouncer
I walk in, start dancin', I tune in, start groovin'
So I walk up to the stage and start warming up
Check to see if the crowd is hot, if the sound is good, if the feeling is there, and one note leads to an other and it all starts to happen
When I'm in the zone, it's like the notes are coming out before I think of them
Like the music is talking straight from the soul
This is who I really am, in that moment
I play just what I feel
When I hit the sweet spot, it's like a magic
It happens every night
The stars align and I play the perfect note
Strobe light blinding me
The crowd goes crazy
People start to scream
Hold on, hold on
What did you say ?
It's 4am, and I'm just jammin'
