The sun this morning rose,
Over a box of unused clothes,
And then September came above and started leaking summer rain,
The day left me behind in bed,
I looked to all the clouds and said,
You look a little a this year, why the sudden change?
Tapping on my window push my finger through the glass,
I make another friend as I am watching old ones pass,
I’m planning for tomorrow just to be another day,
The sun shines just as brightly when I look the other way,
And every night I sleep to dream for courage on the stage,
And in my dream I have another chance to come of age,
My pillow was so soft and deep,
I walked back to the edge of sleep,
The clouds, the rain, the grey all turned to dust upon my shelf,
A picture of a memory,
They settled on and said to me,
It’s been a few Septembers and you've changed a bit yourself,
Tapping on my window push my finger through the glass,
I make another friend as I am watching old ones pass,
I’m planning for tomorrow just to be another day,
The sun shines just as brightly when I look the other way,
And every night I sleep to dream for courage on the stage,
And in my dream I have another chance to come of age,
And I woke up again that day,
I sleep to dream the rain away,
The sun left me behind but I’ll stay here a little while,
All the space inside of me,
Is waiting for a memory,
For next year I may wake up to September with a smile。
Tapping on my window push my finger through the glass,
I make another friend as I am watching old ones pass,
I’m planning for tomorrow just to be another day,
The sun shines just as brightly when I look the other way,
And every night I sleep to dream for courage on the stage,
And in my dream I have another chance to come of age.
